Japanese IQ test.

I solved it once, but I don't know how I did it.

It's a flash version of the following problem:

Eight people need to cross a river on a raft. There's a mother, a father, two sons, two daughters, a policeman, and a thief. Only the father, the mother, and the policeman can operate the raft. The father can't be left with a daughter unless the mother is present. The mother can't be left with a son unless the father is present. The thief can't be left with anyone unless the policeman is present. On edit: Oh yeah, only two people at a time on the raft, too.

5. OK, I figured out how I did it.

The solution is in white text below.

Policeman and thief cross, policeman returns. Policeman and boy cross, policeman and thief return. Dad and boy cross, dad returns. Mom and dad cross, mom returns. Policeman and thief cross, dad returns. Mom and dad cross, mom returns. Mom and girl cross, policeman and thief return. Policeman and girl cross, policeman returns. Policeman and thief cross, and all eight are on the other side.
