As someone else posted it: I have light reddish brown hair, hazel eyes, fair skin and mucho freckles.

but, lo and behold, I'm Apache. Mescalero. Relatives were kind enough to provide info.

My father's side is pure German. My mother's side is German- however, her family's ancestry has been traced back to the Imperial Roman court (her family name is Pontzius). After doing some research a couple years ago, my sister found reason to believe she may have royal Roman blood (she says the royalty follows the matriarchal side).

Maternal: Cherokee from my grandmother's side; Irish and English from my grandfather's side.
Paternal: German and English from both paternal grandparents.

I'm adopted, but my biological and adoptive mothers are sisters.

Both my mom's parents came over from Germany in the 30's. I'm second generation born in this country.

On my dad's side is both Irish and English. One family member on that side traced us back to the Mayflower's John Alden and Pricilla Mullens.

There's likely some English in there as well, and of course the Hungarian bit is ethnically messy (I think my maternal grandmother's Ellis Island record lists her as Slovak).

Second generation Irish. My grandparents were from Cork and Roscommon.

If you want to get really nitpicky, there's some Norman blood in there. Irish names with the "Fitz-" prefix are generally Cambro-Norman in origin.

Scottish from mom's side, English, Irish on dad's side.

That's my adoptive heritage. My birth ancestry is unknown on one side, but on the side I do know it's English, Irish. It's probably similar, as I have very fair skin (which burns, never tans), red hair, green eyes. I don't look out of place in Ireland or the British Isles.

Note: I am also very much an Anglophile, and have been most of my life. Finally got to the U.K. and Ireland in 1992 with my mom, which was great--nearly three full weeks, going a wide range of places, encircling a good part of the whole. (My favorite was Edinburgh, with a close follow-up of Windermere)

My mom is French, but we think she has some Jewish ancestry generations ago.

My dad is Afghani, and we think his mother was not purely Afghani or not Afghani at all. She may have been part Saudi or maybe Indian, no one ever knew what her ethnicity was, and she never told anyone.

My mom and her family immigrated from Ukraine when she was very young. Might have a little bit of Croatian a few generations back on that side too.

My dad's third generation Polish. Also has a little bit of German and Irish mixed in for good measure.
