My 7 yo son made me laugh last night
He and his older brother were watching shows about global warming and they were wowed by the depiction of the globe during the last major ice age, noting that the glaciers passed right over Maine. So I said you can still see evidence all around outside that the glaciers had come through what with all the boulders just randomly dropped in fields and large hills made up of piles of dirt.

So the 7 yo gets this excited look on his face and says, "Yes, consider if you will, the small hill behind the neighbor's house."

I had to bite my tongue as I told him, "Well, that's a man made feature called a leach field, but it is somewhat like a moraine or esker."

Kids can be so entertaining, eh? :p (And I am not sure where he picked up the phrase "consider if you will", but he and his bro do read a lot of Calvin and Hobbes, so he might have found it there. They can recite entire strips from memory.)

3. That's funny, and cute
It reminded me of a time after an event at the park down the street when some teenage boys buried the leftover ice from coolers in the large playground/sandbox. They dug up some of it when some young kids came along and exclaimed,"WOW, this ice must be left over from the ICE AGE!" The little kids came running over and were excitedly digging around trying to find more.
The kids also like to dig beneath the topsoil around here to find what they call Indian clay.
Have you seen this website? It has lots of interesting stuff about Maine to look into.

6. Wasn't "consider if you will" one of Rod Serling's stock phrases
during the introduction to "The Twilight Zone"?
