4. try this
with a sharp knife, tap your way around the top, just low enough that if you cracked it you won't lose any egg, and after you have tapped across all of that, try to use a very sharp knife to finish cutting it off

8. Roll eggs on hard surface so shell is all broken
Be sure not to squash the eggs, press just enough to break the shell. After that, it comes off like a tangerine's hide (How do you call the outer, inedible layer of a fruit?)

14. If you are losing most of the egg when you peel it, put vinegar in
the water when you boil the eggs. The shells just slide off.

The best was to boil eggs with no green sulphur is to boil for 5 minutes, remove from range and cover with lid for 5 minutes. Perfect.

5. Cover with water, bring to boil, boil 10 min, cover, turn off heat.
Let set 5 min, drain and cover with cold water. Peel when cold, under cold running water.

11. I'm a 10-minute hardboiler
As previously stated, put eggs in pan, cover with water to about an inch, inch and half above the eggs, bring to a boil, boil 10 minutes.

Then pour the water off and keep pouring cold tap water in, pouring it off, pouring it in, pouring it off until the eggs cool. Then shake them around in the pan until the shells crackle and peel them under running water.

BTW, very fresh eggs never peel as well as eggs that are a few days old.

15. for perfect boiled eggs
Put them into cold (from-the-tap-cold) salted water and bring the whole thing to a boil. As soon as it's boiling good & hard, turn off the heat, cover it, and leave it for ten minutes.

Perfect boiled eggs. The yolk will be completely hard but completely yellow (i.e., the outside of the yolk won't turn gray). And the yolk won't be as dry as powder and crumble into nothingness.
