Drunk Passenger Tries To Open Plane Door In Flight
An Illinois man is in custody after authorities say he interfered with a flight from Chicago to Portland.

Suspect James Terry as shown in a photo from the FBI.
FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele says 45-year-old James Terry got angry when flight attendants cut him off from alcohol. She says Terry tried to open the rear door of the plane and attempted to touch a flight attendant.

Several passengers subdued Terry, who was handcuffed by the United Airlines flight crew. FBI agents arrested him in Portland Thursday night.

Steele says Terry faces a charge of interfering with a flight crew.

Terry is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

2. They should let the flight attendants carry tasers.

3. Same thing happened to me 20 years ago.
Druggie on the way to rehab clinic.
Later I learned his brother was supposed to accompany him on the flight but he decided to save the price of a ticket and stayed at the gate.
Hey, how much trouble could he get into on an airplane?
Plenty.

Shot up one last time in the aft lav.
Came out and decided to exit the aircraft at 35,000.
Flight attendant called the cockpit and told us what was happening.
I came back and cuffed him behind his back and put him in a seat and fastened the seat belt.
Might as well be in a straitjacket.
You ain't goin' nowhere.

NYPD met our flight to La Guardia at the gate.

BTW, the aircraft doors are 'plug' doors.
Like trying to PULL a champagne cork back into the bottle.
Once the aircraft is pressurized at altitude there ain't NO way you can get one open.
Rest easy, y'all.
:-)

5. Well, you could shoot one out.
But that's about it.
You sure can't roll 'em down.

6. Yeah, but what if there is a monster outside the window?
As William Shatner found out...

7. Oh, that's DIFFERENT.
Yeah, a gremlin on the wing could totally eat the window out.
Happens a lot but the MSM never covers it.

8. Watch that first step...
Actually, it's impossible to get a door open if the plane is pressurized. Even so, I hate it like hell when somebody tries to do it.
