Are the "holidays" starting to piss you off yet?
Edited on Sat Nov-17-07 03:09 PM by Breeze54
I'm already............ :grr:

No, I was called this morning and NOW I'm really pissed off.

WTF is with this bitch I used to call my sister?

I'm invited...Day 1

then... Day 2

She calls me this morning and 'subliminally' tells me she

really wants to go to my other sisters house for dinner.

I'm such a push over, I relented and give her permission to 'just go already!
(not exactly like that but in so many words, as that is what she really wanted)

I'm soooooo tired.

:(

1. They were pissing me off the day after labor day
And we're literally boycotting Christmas this year. Enough with the rampant consumerism.

2. I keep forgetting that
that she pisses me off, year round and this morning had the unmitigated gall to give ME
a fucking lecture about rising above 'feelings" and just enjoying the holidays. :silly:
I'm glad she was on the phone, and NOT in arms length, because I would've decked her!! :grr:

Gheebus Craps!

I know I can't fix this. .........

But damn it!! I wish I could! :(

3. Actually, this is the first time in a long time that I've looked forward to the holidays...
I'm blowing off my family entirely this year(with their permission) and taking off to see the woman I'm in love with for the first time.

4. Good advice!
As I will be alone that day, hmmmm... maybe I should just take a trip to somewhere too!

Thank You! :D

9. Sounds like a plan, go for it...
Like it was a difficult choice for me, I just want to avoid one of my aunts, let's just say she is, as my Mom put it, a bitch. I just told my parents to explain my absence this Thanksgiving as saying I'm with my SO getting laid.

When the choice is between sex and romance, or hanging out with family, I say the sex and romance win out, every time.

5. Oh God...
...I think I'm going to self-medicate myself... with a whole lot of alcohol...

it will be a miracle if I don't lose my mind this time around...

I won't bore you with the details. :-( Oh... and... hugs...

7. No need to explain anything...

I just can't believe the audacity, the unfeeling; and I guess... I should've known by now. :banghead:

I'm just so always hopeful and then.... the foot comes down, every time.

What a fucking bitch!!

8. Maybe we need to lower our expectations of people...
I've been thinking a lot about this subject lately.

If one expects nothing out of someone, then there is no disappointment. Right?

Easier said than done, though.

10. It's the manipulation
that just gauls me! :grr:

The 'higher than mighty' attitude and she just twists things and she

just doesn't see or refuses to see what a fucking asshole she is!!

ARGH!!

Self medicating will be the key. I just can't handle this load, this year.

I mean, where the fuck was she when my son was deployed to Iraq?

NO WHERE!!

I never heard one fucking syllable from her the whole 18 months,

except; "Ya, so?"

13. Hang in there!
I actually work on Thanksgiving day this year. So no self-medicating that day! lol
But, the other holidays will be a challenge... I can tell already.

Whatever you decide to do, or wherever you decide to go, I hope it works out well for you!

That's unfortunate, btw, that your sister couldn't be more supportive when you needed her. I'm very glad your son made it back safely from Iraq.

16. I'm going to go curl up on the couch...
Thanks for the  but this is way to much for me.

I'm just so sad. I just can't deal with it on any level.

I'm so sorry. Please know... these feelings are very common around the holidays.

Here is a "strong song" for you...ok? :

6. no. My family is cool, I don't mind cooking Thanksgiving dinner
and I actually like good Christmas music - well, not the barking dogs and Santa Got Run Over, but... cool jazz and medieval Christmas music.

Plus we have a family grab bag now, and that makes shopping easier.

11. First holiday living apart from STBE wife without the house...
Edited on Sat Nov-17-07 04:01 PM by RetroLounge
No idea what we'll do this year. Last year she was still in the house so I came over Xmas morning before kids got up.

My family wants me to bring the kids to Chicago (implied: without my STBE)

The kids want to be with mom. but also with me.

I think I'll just disappear.

Don't you dare walk away from that and think they don't care!! :grr:

They DO love and want you and they want to see their Dad!!

Now go get them and be their Dad!!

18. How about I demand you back off a bit
and make less assumptions.

You really have a tendency to jump all over threads and over-react.

Your heart may be in the right place, but come on. Try decaf.

12. not in regard to Thanksgiving Dinner, anyway. Someone else is cleaning
house for it! I am taking a cake, homemade rolls, some asparagus to steam when we get there, and a squash casserole. I think that is all, unless I come up with something else. We are going to have about 25 people I think! There will be too much food and noise and football and we will have a wonderful time. I think I am going to be the oldest one there, this just dawned on me. My husband is stuck in Wyoming and he is the oldest son, their parents, grandparents etc are dead..so I am the Official Old Lady!
