2. I thought it was good
Liam Neeson as Aslan and Tilda Swinton as the White Queen. And James MacAvoy as Mr Tumnus, the Fawn.

So yeah it's fantastic.

Early 70s, I don't remember any version except the books, and I didn't really get into Fantasy as a kid in the early 70s. It's only been with the movies and the FX ability we have now that I've liked the genre.

3. I was preparing for the worst...
As the books hold a particular spot in my heart (my earliest memories are of dear old mom reading a chapter a night to me), and the fact that Lewis is one of my favorite Apologists, I was preparing for the worst.

But it was surprisingly good! For the most part, the movie stayed true to the innocence and wholesomeness of the books themselves, and that was the part I was prepared to be most critical of.

The children that were cast as the Pevensies were out-frikkin-standing! And the actors/V.O. actors for the Beavers and Mr. Tumnus were childlike in their portrayal (and that's a good thing)

I wasn't that keen on Neeson doing the V.O for Aslan, but to be honest, I don't think I would have approved of anyone doing the V.S. for Aslan. Also, the CGI was a little bit intrusive at times.

But those minor quibbles aside, I was very pleased with the film overall and I gave it a solid B+.

4. I saw it on a plane. Stays true to the book.
Lots of good CGI. Acting is wooden, but hey, they were talking to thin air.

Kids would like it, adults, well if you liked Narnia you'd like this.

Narnia had some Christian imagery, but no more than Moby Dick had Islamic imagery.

5. The kids can't act...
...but everything else was grand. Terrific music, and it all looked right.
