It's not the boob, it was the stunt that brought forth the boob.

First off, I'm no prude (I hang out here, for one thing). But am I the only one more pissed off about a man grabbing a woman's breast for entertainment "value" than showing a little nip?

Am I the only one who saw an act of violence (staged, as I think it was, or otherwise) committed in front of millions of people?

1. OMG!
I was in such a state yesterday I did not post much and this is one thing I was really pissed about. I saw it that way too. All I have heard is how terrible Janet is for what SHE did, not much about Justin. They are both guilty but the fact of ripping off her clothes, nothing has been said. Yes, I feel exactly like you do. Gave me a good opportunity to talk with my son who saw nothing wrong with it. The boob was nothing, the act was everything.

4. Exactly. I don't think any sane person is upset about the exposure,
but I think everyone feels a little disturbed by this and they don't know why. I think this is the reason, even if consciously it doesn't register with them.

6. You said a mouthfull there!(no Pun)
RE: "The boob was nothing, the act was everything!"

The same can be said for the 'Mother of All Boobs' in our White House!

I didn't think it was the young lady's fault either! And your son was exactly right it wasn't nothing, compared to the trash on Fox network! Half the stuff on Fox's 'entertainment' channels is just as smut filled as the halftime show was on CBS! The pubs should take their own advice and just "GET OVER IT" or leave America!

16. Same here
First we didn't watch but a small part of half-time, we switched over to CNN waiting for the MoveOn "Child's Play".

My son didn't see anything wrong with the boob exposure either, but it gave me an opportunity to talk about the lack of respect and the pseudo act of violence behind it.

My personal views are conflicted, maybe it's my age, but whatever happened to decorum? I'm the first to let people express themselves in their own way, but - why is there a need to continuously grab your crotch, rip off women's clothing, expose a boob or sexually gyrate in entertainment these days? Why isn't talent enough? Or is that part of the problem, there is less talent and just more 'special effects'? I've no doubt the half-time entertainment wasn't meant to entertain old ladies like me.

2. Yep, it ain't the meat it's the motion
Yet the news readers didn't even notice Timberlake's roll in this silliness. Even though it was a set up, what the heck kind of message were these two sending to the world. That it's okay for a man to walk up to a woman and rip her clothes off in public and no one will even notice, his part in it? They will be too po'd at the women for letting him do it?

3. The song Justin Timberlake was singing
is called something like "I'll have you naked by the end of this song."
Yeah, the planned ripping was the most offensive part.

5. The most offensive part has been...
...peoples overaction to it, no matter your reasons for that overreaction.

BFHD. That's my take on it.

7. It was definitely misogynistic, IMO.
It is part of the "bitch" lyrics mentality I've heard in some pop music and despise. The boob was nothing to get worked up over.

They should've kept the marching band on.

10. What else would you expect..............
from the MTV generation? Many music videos are direct assaults on women and much of the music demeans women. The fact that this stunt was enacted during one of the most male dominated 'rutting' rituals (The SUPER bowl) shouldn't be lost on people.
MTV should swing form the yardarms for this, but I'm not holding out any hope. Being the father of a teenage girl I'm appalled at the current trend of misogynistic tendencies in today's music and videos.

Not the friggin' game.

MTV is a clownfest full of mental deficients and deviants.

18. Yeah, but they're always trotting out shit at halftime
shows that has nothing to do with sports.

And what exactly is your definition of a "deviant"?

15. Agreed - I could care less about the boob
I have been offended by the violence towards a woman - complicant or not. Young fellows have a history of choosing how to read those types of celebrity endorsed "messages". Thanks for posting. And now, back to the tittering about a naked boobie right there on the TV.
