Welcome to New England! 65 degrees yesterday; less than 40 for a high today, and
heading for a HARD freeze tonight.

I have to go bring all the excess Thanksgiving beer in from the screen porch so it doesn't turn into Beersicles.

3. Welcome to Texas! I guess we don't have the market cornered on strange weather
up here in New England, do we?

4. It was colder here than it was there on Thanksgiving.
That is the truly strange part.

2. Why be in Florida when you can get tropical weather in the mountains?

5. Took a nice drive or two in Missy yesterday with the roof down, terrifying various cousins

who had not been in such a dangerously fast car before.

But not today. I think it's time for old Missy to go down for her winter nap; she's damn suicidal to drive with even a powdering of snow.

7. Yeah, I've gotten the reputation as the cousin / uncle who's friendly, but at
the same time not entirely there and to be handled with well-insulated potholders.

Works for me.

9. Welcome to SoCal where the high temperature depends upon where you are.
For example Anaheim could have a high temperature might be 67 degrees, but near the beach in the city of Huntington Beach it might be 58.

10. There are times when I am nostalgic for winter.
I grew up in Montana and fondly remember many aspects of frigid.

The puddle in the mud that overnight became a thin sheet of ice, surrounded by crystallized mud.

The frozen drifts that may or may not support your foot.

The blizzard with lightning and thunder.

Caring for my parents cattle when the thermometer read -40F.

Ah, the good old days.

My years in the desert have turned me into a weather wimp.

So I envy your seasons, but dread ever having a winter again.

11. Minus forty? Remember that crinkly feeling when your nose hairs started to freeze?
I remember that from growing up in Vermont.

12. Spit fast or you will be mute 'cause your lips freeze.
You have to wait for spring thaw to hear the January conversation.

13. Going down to 24 overnight in Chicago....
Yesterday, we barely made it past freezing. A bit better today, because there was sun.

Winter is coming. Meteorlogical winter is a week from tomorrow. :(

14. Ridiculous, eh?
Hope you had a happy turkey day, dude! :hi: I'm being thankful that our furnace broke yesterday instead of today... no heat last night was fine, no heat tonight would be much more challenging and dangerous for the pipes.
