Ah, the new coach. MY favorite is Bo Pelini and there's a rumor going about that he's been contacted. Officially, there is no favorite. Osborne is playing it close to the vest for the time being, though he has said that people have been contacted and they're proceeding relatively rapidly.

and some there would like Turner Gill back. I could see that too. But I don't know his record at Buffalo.

Osborne had the chance to pick him once, and chose Solich instead. Really? If Solich was the the better choice, I want NO part of Turner Gill. And he hasn't really done anything in the meantime. Buffalo? Who? No thanks.

I love my Husker traditions, but at the same time, we DO need to advance. The option is a great play to run every once in a while, but a complete offensive playbook it does not make. The last thing we need is "The Osborne Era, Part 2: The Return of Turner Gill." Just. No.

Pelini, on the other hand, has been with teams who actually, you know, win games... ;)

We have a local DJ on one of the stations here called "The Shark". He was doing afternoons on what was Hitz94. They changed the station to Majic94 (to take advantage of the fact that down the dial at 93.1 Oldies 93 went to 93.1 The Wolf - all new country). Normally when a stations flips from one format to another they usually get rid of all the old aircrew and hire in fresh people. However the change of the station wasn't that drastic (from doing 80's and 90's to 60's 70's and 80's instead) so most of the on air talent remained in place. Including "The Shark". So his station might have jumped the shark, but The Shark just rolled with the tide.
