10. as someone in the middle (sort of) 54
some folk are very young at 60 some are very old at 60

Are there any concerts of their favorite music groups coming up?
Are they single, are they married?
I would be very upset if some well meaning relative gave me a membership to the
Laxative of the Month Club.

14. A donation in their name to their favorite charity
I'm 53 and thats what I tell my mother in law every year and she still buys me a whole bunch of stuff.

I don't need anything and if I want something I get it.

If I, as a selfish, evil babyboomer can cause a 100 dollar contribution to be given to the American Cancer Society in my name; then I will be a hero is someone's eyes and that beats a half gallon of Old Spice or another screwdriver.

16. often you can do well by giving them...
...something that affirms the person they wanted to be or think they are. In other words, if one of them always wanted to be a cowboy, you could get a subscription to that very slick upscale cowboy magazine, or something else that evokes that longago dream. If one had a particular toy that was cherished and lost, you could find another one on eBay.

Buying back a dream or a memory will always touch a heart.
