Here is a new twist in the Nigerian scam

I'm trying to sell something on craigslist right now, and it's UNBELIEVABLE how many scammers are out there!

As an experiment. I got three responses, all obvious scammers.

when posting small/cheap items. Right now i'm trying to sell something more expensive. Apparently the "big-ticket" items are a scam magnet!!!

I find it helps to put a little disclaimer: "Scammers, don't bother! I will not ship, will not accept phony cashier checks over the mail, and will not Western Union you money. LOCAL SALES ONLY!" That's at least cut down on them a bit...

I can't believe anyone would be taken in by anything this obvious so they are nothing but fun.

What's really scary is that a banker recently told me people actually fall for these things...all the time!
