35. Mary Ramsey? She did two albums with them. Here is a little bit

of trivia for you -- Mary Ramsey played violin (or viola) on the Maniacs Un-Plugged album. She and John Lombardo (original 10,000 Maniacs member) performed together after John left the Maniacs.

Not only that, but I had Mary Ramsey's father for English Lit. when I was a student at SUNY Fredonia.

i saw the maniacs at an outdoor concert in Houston in August. all she did was whine about the heat and the mosquitos. no shit! we're all standing out in the same heat, with the same mosquitos, but the difference is that WE paid YOU for the privilege! now shut the hell up and sing Hey Jack Kerouac!

plus, she bailed on the maniacs to go be a diva. what were those guys supposed to do, go get jobs at Wal-Mart?

she has a pretty impressive body of work since then. I think I saw the remaining 'Maniacs' riding on the back of a garbage truck in my neighborhood last week. :shrug:

the lettering worn off and you can barely make out 'Peter Asher' on there, that's how I know which tape it is.

It's possible that only lesbians that have long, drawn out dramatic break-ups can understand the value of her work, songs like "My Skin" and "Seven Years". Songs to contemplate suicide to.
