Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 02:04 PM by lionesspriyanka
the health care bill is for my routine check up + pap smear+ std check.

nice one.

on edit: its not as bad as most people's health care stories but its annoying to me anyway.

1. Can you make payments on the medical bill?
The last time I was hospitalized I was given that option.

9. Mine doesn't cover preventative care either.
They send us all these mailings about getting regular check-ups, paps, prostate checks, etc, etc. But they don't pay for that stuff. Pisses me off!

You could probably put off the bill for a month or so, and get Lisa the Ipod. Much longer than that, and it would start affecting your credit. Clinics and hospitals can get surprisingly nasty about these things. I used to be a health care consumer advocate. I could tell you stories!!

Good news about the syphilis, though :)

11. Pay your bills. If your loved ones have half a brain, they'll understand and support you.

14. Would they take books?
Unless your bills are absolutely crushing (and if they are, DEFINITELY pay them), most bookstores will have something good in the bargain section. Or try online. You can get like-new hardbacks for just shipping costs in some cases.

Or write everyone an IOU.

15. Call me old fashioned, but if two loving people stayed in a monogamous relationship,
no tests would be needed and neither individual would have to worry about getting anything.

16. you dont give gifts as a test, you give gifts because someone elses happiness
makes you happy

lisa's joy at having a new ipod makes me delighted.

19. ahh i realize you were talking about std tests. its a yearly check up
the last time i checked was before i met lisa.

its part of a routine check.

you really should know better than to be judgemental about people getting std test. every sexually active adult should get tested. i had a life before i met lisa.

17. do they have VD clinic gift certificates?
in chicago, they have this health center for the LBGT community: it's a more inclusive environment, really professional, and practically free.

i've went there for screenings lots of times.

do they have something like this where you live? it could help defray the cost a little. you still get competent care in a nurturing environment.
