"Whoppi" bashes Bush/Ashcroft on NBC!
On Whoppi's sitcom, someone said women can forget have any personal choice if Bush appoints a justice to the SC. Whoppi went on to say "Maybe he'll appoint Ashcroft - then all women can register their vaginas with the government. I'd like to live in a country where my vagina is registered, but my handgun isn't." She goes on to counter someone on the show who said that women she choose to be pro-life, and she said then that's not really choosing. (that's not verbatim, but GO WHOPPI!!!)

4. Go Girl!
When the show started out, I was very disappointed. I had hoped to have Whoopi at her best, outspoken, outrageous and really giving it to those in power. After a few weeks, she found her voice and has been great!

Do any of you remember Laugh-In, The Smother's Brothers ect? Where are those voices today?

13. Love them all, but
Where are these voices on the mainstream television, on a weekly basis. Where are the Liberal talk shows on radio or TV? This list are ones that very few of us get to hear, watch or read. Where are the anti-war songs etc.? We seem to have lost our voice of outrage, of dissent, of hope. It helps to have these in the mainstream, for the masses to first laugh with and then get some of the truth thrown in. We need it!

Okay, I ramble.....time to hit the sack. Thanks for the list. I have a few to add myself.

A People's History of the United States, By Howard Zinn
Anything by Noam Chomsky and Greg Palast

6. I loved her comments about Rush a few weeks ago..
She made a joke about his drug abuse. Her brother said to show him some compassion. She said...'huh, yeah cause thats what HE would do.' (ironically of course)

14. But just as good is Whoopi's reaction to her...
Most of the time, she's giving her a look that says, "What the hell are you saying?" (You gotta see the show to understand...)

16. Great show.
I need to start watching it again. I love the interaction between the characters on the show, and the fact that it's one of the few shows that's actively taking swipes at the current regime.
