Poll question: Let's settle this once and for all....
The receipt in the bag on in your hand.

I hate it when the sales clerk hands me my receipt with my money. Then I have to lay it down, put my change away, and then pick the receipt up and put it in the bag where it should have been placed in the first place. Or when a clerk hands me just my change and, as I'm putting my change away, stands there with the receipt in her hand trying to hand it to me. Put it in the bag!

5. I used to be a 'bag' person til I figured out it was much handier to keep the receipts
in my wallet in case of returns. I go through the wallet once a month. By then I usually know whether I want to return it or not. So now I always say 'with me' when they hand out receipts. It's saved me so much time looking for lost receipts.

6. I work in retail
I usually put the receipt in the bag.

However, I resent your tone. I do my best to try and be nice to the customer, whether I put the receipt in the bag or in the hand. Sometimes when you are overworked and understaffed, these minor details aren't that important.

8. Everywhere I shop, it's always asked
"Would you like the receipt with you or in the bag?" I have a choice and choose to put it in my purse.
