"A shower head could be considered a sex toy" Alabama sex toy ban to be challenged.
Ban on sex toys targeted

MONTGOMERY -- A Birmingham legislator has filed a bill that would revoke the state's 10-year ban on the sale of sex toys, a prohibition that has drawn national attention and led to lengthy court battles.

It's the second attempt by state Rep. John Rogers, D-Birmingham, to strike the 1998 prohibition on the sale of such devices.

"A shower head could be considered a sex toy," he said. "It's just bringing the state into the 20th century."

Dan Ireland, executive director of the Alabama Citizens' Action Program, a Baptist group, said it would oppose any effort to overturn the law.

Alabamans can get stuff online if they really wanted too. What I love about these bans is that it's always fundies who use these things. They need to pass laws because they don't have the will power to stop themselves...or they love the thrill of doing something illegal.

They might as well ban phallic shaped vegetables and foods, cans of worms, hand lotion, and imagination.

Alabamans have lots of sex. Make no mistake about it. People in general like to have sex. It's fun and it's an important part of life. No amount of legislation is going to stop it.
