Last year, he didn't decorate for Christmas, since he's alone. So, I sent him this:

My Dad lives alone now (my Mom left him for the next world recently).

I live away from Dad, but I'll pickup on your lead & send him a tree (he always enjoyed setting up a Christmas tree when I was a kid).
