The Rulez: You + person/place/thing that makes you happy.

For example, here is me + best scruffmonkey in the world (Elmo). You also can't tell that i have a mixed drink in a plastic soda bottle. :D

She'd hear/see my car coming up the long driveway and come running over. She knew she'd get scratches, plus it spend a good 15 minutes tearing up the GOOD grass on this side of the fence and feeding it to her.

http://www.asimovonline.com/oldsite/Essays/biology.html

Of course, all of those are probably elementary to you. And some of them might be dated by now.

Still, I learned way more about science from his essay collections than I learned in HS or college. For example, that despite these kind of diagrams:

in reality, if the nucleus were half an inch in diameter, the first electron orbit would be about half a mile away.

Which is how a neutrino can pass through the Earth without hitting anything (usually). All matter, including us, is mostly vacuum.

100. Here's something crazier...
If a star is massive enough, the gravity will be so strong that it will collapse into a neutron star, where those electron orbits are basically crushed, collapsing into nothing but neutrons. Imagine something twice as massive as our sun, but in a globe only 5 miles in diameter, and hence roughly 50,000 times as dense. Not much vacuum left!

BUT since it was rotating (like all stars) before it collapsed, it has the same angular momentum in a much smaller space. Translation: it rotates very very fast. Some rotate as slow as once every 30 seconds (which is still pretty fast for something that used to rotate once a month or so), some rotate several hundred times a second.

Imagine a sphere with the mass of 500,000 times of our entire planet, rotating 500 times a second.

And there are lots of them in our galaxy. You don't want to cruise too close to one.

Okay, I'm a geek :P

This one isn't my song, just me practicing somebody else's cover of somebody else's song. :)

That annoying buzzing in the background is the fan on my external harddrive. That's why I now put my camera on the other side of my desk when I'm filming myself practicing guitar.

That's also why my hair was down in the second video... because I needed something very small to prop my camera up on to get it at the right angle in its new place on my desk... and my little elastic hair band thingy was just the right size for that. :)

Are you in counseling for that??

I bet you can pull off either -- i dyed mine reddish at one point, and i looked terrible! My skin is too pink, or something... i don't know. It was a train wreck! LOL

What's Sebastian been doing?? I don't think i can ever get a cat, because (a) i'm allergic, and (b) Elmo thinks they are dogs, and tries to play with them as such... and you can imagine that most cats don't appreciate that! :D

Sebastian is just being picky because he doesn't like the flavor of food I picked for him today. I told him that until he gets himself some opposable thumbs of his own he's going to have to live with what he's given. He's not amused. :eyes:

We got married on what was my grandparent's farm in northwest Ohio. It has stayed in the family and is now owned by my uncle. We had the wedding outside on the wrap-around front porch. Then we had the tent and cook out reception. It was the best day of my whole life. :D

152. It was perfect for us.
The most important thing was that we were marrying each other. Everything else to us was just background noise.

It felt like my late grandfather sort of had a hand in it. I know it sounds kind of weird, but the day before the wedding we went to his gravesite. There were tons of patches of clover and both my husband and I kind of looked for a 4-leaf clover as kind of a sign. Well, we didn't find anything there. We went back to the house, where they left me to make dinner so they could go back over and set up the tent. I went outside and sat down in a chair to have a cigarette. I had been sitting there thinking about the cemetery and I look over my shoulder and there in front of my eyes was a 4-leaf clover. I carried it with me when I got married and I still have it pressed in a photo album.

182. Just read this now
It gave me shivers! That's really neat... almost like you "found" his memory at the house instead of the cemetery -- so much more appropriate for your wedding day. That's just wonderful. I have a grandpa i'm super close with, and we've actually asked him to perform the ceremony! I hope he's up for it -- he's really old now! If not we have a backup plan, but it would be really amazing if he could do it. (Anyone can get ordained for a day in Massachusetts -- yay!)

Hope you're having a great night!

149. It helps
when you can get married and have the reception at the same place...
all the recommendations are the best
(flowers,entertainment and cake)
and her friend does makeup and has a partner that does hair...

no limo needed....
and rooms are provided!!!

it will all work out....
remember all you REALLY need to get married is
you, your fiancee, your license and witnesses...
and champagne for you and Mr. mander!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They cover artists' books too, if you're interested in that.
