It's a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.

The girl he mistook for Ferris? That was her one and only role:

5. Oh, I'm sorry. I can't come to the door right now.
I'm afraid that in my weakened condition, I could take a nasty spill down the stairs and subject myself to further school absences. You can reach my parents at their places of business. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your concern for my well-being. Have a nice day!

14. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter.
-Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.

39. A piece o' trivia I *didn't* know until just now:
A replica Ferrari 250 California Spyder was used in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It was Cameron Frye's dad's car. Apparently, the company that produced the replica was sued by Ferrari for the unlawful use of the Ferrari logos. Soon after this the company shut down to avoid further payout.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_250

Well at least they didn't trash a real Ferrari.

36. Speaking of museums...
I was in Chicago on business several years ago, walked into The Art Institute of Chicago, and said, "I've got an hour and a half before you close, and I saw Ferris Bueller". They said, "Oh! Well here's our map, here's the Seurat, here's the stained glass, and here's the Pollack. Hey, we should offer a Ferris Bueller tour!"

I managed to see half of the second floor in a little over an hour. Most amazing thing? No glass on the paintings, no ropes, no proximity alarms. I got *this close* to a priceless Van Gogh self-portrait. Asked a guard about it, and he said, "Yeah, just the other day I hadda ask this lady to leave, she wouldn't stop touching the paintings".

13. Ben's not my fave person in the world but right now
he needs to be quoted.

"In 1930, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, in an effort to alleviate the effects of the... Anyone? Anyone?... the Great Depression, passed the... Anyone? Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered?... raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression. Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics. "Voodoo" economics. "
