Holiday cards questions
Do you send them?
Do you include a letter?
If so is it generic and goes to everyone?
Do you get cards from your doctor/dentist?
Do you like them to send them?
Do you tip the garbage man? Give him a card, cash, present?

1. I really enjoyed sending out Hannuka, Christmas and Holiday
cards in recent years. I would buy several different boxed sets of cards so I could choose what to send to each person, and I would put a personal note or a few paragraphs of personal stuff inside each one.

I only sent them to friends and coworkers, not to business or medical associates. I can't do it this year though. I can't handle the hand-writing. So I guess this tradition is over. :(

The only person who is getting a card from me this year is my building superintendent. He gets a card with a big annual tip in it. He's awesome, and he really looks out for me.

I love getting cards. They really make my day. Especially when there's a personal note or letter inside. I still have some of the ones with best, most touching notes and letters.
:loveya:

2. I don't tip the garbage persons.
 Perhaps I should, given all the nonsense they put up with from tenants who pack the wrong items into the recycling bins.

I also forget to tip the mail carrier.

I try to write a short note in my Hanukkah or Christmas cards, and I try to tailor the design of the card to the person (i.e., the more spiritually themed cards go to the more spiritual recipients). But I've never sent a Christmas letter, for a variety of reasons. I'm okay with receiving them.

3. My answers...
Do you send them? Yes, I send about 100 out every year. I usually start them on the day after Thanksgiving.

Do you include a letter? No, I do not include a letter, but I will right small notes in some of them.

If so is it generic and goes to everyone? Not applicable. No letter written.

Do you get cards from your doctor/dentist? Yes I do, and I send them cards also.

Do you like them to send them? I do, but not as much as I used to. 100 cards is a lot of labels, stamps, and work...but something drives me to keep up this tradition because I have been doing it for so many years.

Do you tip the garbage man? Give him a card, cash, present? My garbage man is paid through my taxes and works for the town. I do not tip him, but I do tip the paper delivery person and the person who cuts my hair. I usually give $10 to $20 each, depending on my cash situation that particular year. I'm sure that any gift would be appreciated regardless of the amount. I even gave my barber cookies one year.
