So What Do You Do For Fun Loungers?
I sometimes struggle with "what" is fun for me.

Most of the time I like hanging with my son.

I wish there were something that he and I could get into as a hobby.

I've always had limited vision in the hobby world but I have interests and things that I've done in the past:
working out
bicycling
camping
fishing
watching movies
the internets
politics

I don't know, I just wish that I felt I had more interests sometimes.

So what about you?

See, I'm pretty lame.

7. we are a boring bunch alright...
me, I love to listen to classical music and Jazz.

I enjoy getting together with friends and having a great time, maybe with a BBQ and some good beer.

I also enjoy the quiet times spent with my GF in front of the fireplace, on a walk in the woods, or listening to music. Infact, every single minute spent with her is great, no matter what we are doing.

I suppose hanging out in the lounge can be fun at times, and being ridiculous on the internet. Honestly, I don't think I could say half the things I say here in real life, the release is necessary I think.

I enjoy reading, lately non fiction books about politics or life as a doctor in Iraq...

I also have fun volunteering. The guys I work with are entertaining, I have frustrating moments, but the majority of them are good guys that just need a hand getting back on their feet.

I am also learning to sail. My soul needs that. and I am very glad I can share the experience with my GF. when I sail, I can feel it deep inside my soul, it is very peaceful and calming in a crazy world.

I am sure there are more things I do for fun.

be interested to learn more about that

there's some pretty good floats in Arkansas

they call this "paddling season" 'cause it rains and the rivers go up

get some level 4 rapids on some when they are up enough

i'm sticking with level 3 and don't like cold weather canoing.

exercise, primarily biking, but during the winter I need to find something else because I hate biking in cold weather even with my cold weather gear on.

http://www.geocaching.com/

I've done caches all over New England, and a few in "Old" England ;), Arizona and Sweden

Really is a cool activity, it gets you outdoors and I like the ones we've done that involved historical sites and finding clues to find the next cache.

41. I have fun in my mind
but to others I just look like a dormant, drooling, freakazoid.

I like to...
-Go for rides
-Take pics of pretty things
-Identify birds
-Internet
-people watch
-Figure other people's tangible problems out (like how to jack up a car with a 2x4 and bubble gum.. that sorta thing)
-write
-Shoot beer cans with pistols that use cheap shells (.22) Yes.. I may be a lil red around the neck for that one.
-Video games
-DU
-sleep and dream
-cook far out stuff
-ride ATVs
-Canoe
-kayak

Being a slacker, the thing about me is that I know all this and yet I find myself staring into the abyss often wondering what to do :)

56. Biking, camping, fishing, and movies are all great activities for your son!
Just spending time with YOU is likely a big deal for him.

Does he like sports? My husband and sons (all grown-up now) still hang out together to watch and attend sporting events (baseball, football and hockey). Pro-sports never interested me, but I used to love going to their games when they were growing up. Those are some of our best memories, and we still have tons of their games on videotape!

Me? I like All Things Corgi... training, walking, playing, cuddling, showing, and just having fun with them. They are so much company, better than a lot of people I know! :)

58. My son and I…
like going to museums, art galleries/artist studios, book stores, junk shops, and painting or doing woodworking projects together. We're both amateur photographers and share a love of historic architecture and nature.

During the weekday evenings, after dinner, we sit down at my desk and surf the web or look over maps to help us plan out the route for our next adventure. Day trips on regular two day weekends are great because it gives us one day to go out and one day to stay in and work on whatever projects we might have going.

We live near Indianapolis 9-10 months out of the year and there are many cool places to visit within a 2 hour drive from our house, including Chicago, but the day after school is out we load the dog, camping gear, cameras, and fishing poles into the car and head North. :)

A fellow fisher person.

I don't like to ice fish, so I prep all winter instead. I study new techniques, study lakes I plan to visit, reorganize my tackle, etc. The minute the ice goes out I will rarely post on DU until Labor Day. My hobby is fishing and I love every aspect of it.

So are sports of all kinds. Watching on TV is good. Being there in person can be even better depending on what it is. Photography can be fun. I've known people who took a class on that with their kids as something they could enjoy together. I hear ya about the limited vision thing. Gotta expand the horizons.
