This is a copy cat thread that was inspired in GD but I thought I'd save the mods the trouble of moving it to the lounge.

1. Who could possibly hate okra?
:) It's an awesome vegetable, and one of my favorites.

6. Then it has good taste!
But I already know that. I don't care which democratic candidate my vegetables endorse as long as they endorse a democrat! :P Though, of course I'd prefer if they endorse Kucinich.

..it's fried or pickled. I'll bet kucinich likes okra. Okra is cool. The Red Hot Chili Peppers almost called themselves The Red Hot Okra.

19. same here, first time I ever saw it. It was boiled, icky slimy stuff
many years later I had it fried and determined it was pretty good that way. I like a little of it in a good veg soup, and an Indian restaurant near here does an interesting tender crisp okra with curry that is outstanding.

BUT! I have to say that I have - at one restaurant - had properly prepared okra that was quite good. So, technically I really like okra - I just don't like the way that the vast majority of fucking morons make it.

15. The minute the contents of a can schlooped out in front of me
What a slimy mess--looked like alien guts. That was many years ago; okra has since been redeemed by playing a key role in authentic New Orleans gumbo. Yum! :9
