"you want a cup of cheese???"
So I'm driving from Bullhead City Arizona (one of the many armpits of the world) to Los Angeles (Another armpit, but home sweet home to me) when, midway, I get hungry. I don't eat at 5:00 am and am impatient to avoid traffic so I plan to eat on the road. About midway is Barstow (the asshole of the world: everyone calls it Barstool) a trucker, hooker, meth addict mecca. A quick stop at McDonalds for some greasy, nasty stuff and I'll be back on the road and headed for home. The girl comes on the intercom at the drive-thru and asks to take my order.

me: "I'll have a number three, with tea."

McD: "that comes with cheese"

me: "yeah"

McD: "so, a number three with cheese"

me: "yes, and tea"

McD: "cheese?"

me: "no, tea"

McD: pause, then, puzzled "Cheese???"

me: "I want a cup of tea"

McD: longer pause, then, very confused, incredulous, bordering on frustration "you want a cup of cheese???!!!?!"

me: "no, not cheese, tea, tee-ee-ay, TEA"

McD: "oh, tea, ok, that'll be $3.45 at the second window"

So I drive forward to the window and it is taking a really long time, like 5 minutes, and I say to my wife, "they're prolly trying to figure out how to get the cheese melted in the cup I bet." We laugh. Eventually the stuff arrives and I'm back on the freeway. I eat my sandwich first, then I'm going to have my tea (yes, she'd rounded up a teabag). I pry the lid off the cup, and there it is.

Wait.

No it wasn't cheese. That would have been too easy.

It was a cup of coffee!!

Now how she figured I was to make a cup of tea out of a cup of coffee I don't know, but at least it wasn't cheese, cuz I don't think the teabag would have worked at all then!
