Do you have a Christmas wish list?
MIL called this morning asking us again want we wanted for Christmas. Problem is, we didn't come up with anything. The only thing we really need is a new roof and I'm sure that's out of her price range. :P

Another relative had lists for each member of the family, just to be helpful.

We finally settled on going shopping together if we make it down around New Year's. She seemed to like the idea.

What do you say when someone asks what you want for Christmas?

1. Some years I have definite ideas but this year I don't want anything.
That's good, because I don't think I'm getting anything!

2. Yes, I want it to be like it used to be.
Now, Dad's gone. Half can't make it, and the othere half argue and hate each other through the entire ordeal in the interest of Mom wanting it to be like it used to be.

3. I usually ask for things that I need
A new pair of shoes or maybe another pair of pants. This year I've got everything I need. But I just bought my condo about 6 months ago and I still have some decorating to do so I asked my folks for a gift certificate to a local art store. I also asked for a cheap digital camera so I can post pictures on here and show all of you how good looking I am. :)

5. Yes. Our family makes lists.
I appreciate them, because it makes shopping so much easier. It is really hard to come up with ideas for people who don't really need anything! And it's still fun to get presents that you kind of "expect". I think it's better than having to face the mall to exchange something you won't ever use.

8. my best friend's family does that
They each make lists and exchange them, so it's no surprise what they're getting but at least there's no junk to return.

6. yah, it'll have to wait another year I think.
I want a human scull and they mostly cost at least $300, but my effing printer's breaking down so I'll be replacing it instead. I'm impossible to buy stuff for, people have to get me gift certificates, I wish they sold them for Goodwill.

9. World peace and a good economy.
Failing that, there are a couple DVDs I want.

I've been so busy and flustered with my recent move and all the distractions and complications therof that I haven't had time to stop and think about what I want beyond that. :P

10. my family maintains lists on Amazon...
I know...Amazon is probably evil, but it does make gift giving much more convenient. Everyone gets stuff they want - and no one accidentally gives anyone something they already have.

i told my dad i wanted an ipod or a wii, but he just laughed at me...those things would be nice but it's no big thing to not get them

15. A better year in 2008
on a number of deeply personal levels, 2006 and 2007 were not very good years. I can skip the material stuff. I'd just like a better year.

Oh, and a big victory for Barack Obama on January 8.

And if you insist, a new NH Fisher Cats cap would be nice...

16. Salad tongs, 13 - 4' x 8' sheets of 3/4" USB, & 432 sq ft of bamboo flooring installed...
Those are tough items to wrap so, I asked for Lowe's gift certificates and Mr. Green Meanie is going to install the flooring for me!

18. Some money. We are flat broke and don't expect many jobs to come in over the holidays unless
there is a flurry of people who need computers set up after Xmas.

Too bad the bills don't go on hiatus when the work does. x(

24. I ALWAYS
tell my mother in law to give a donation to the charity of her choice. I've been telling her that for 30 years but she always badgers my wife to tell her what to get me. I don't need anything and if I want anything I get it.

27. yes, but no real possibility of getting anything on it
my mom gives to local food banks in our names, and I wouldn't have that any other way.

Other than that, my son may end up getting me something small, and that will be it.

And that's ok too. We will be together, and there will be an amazing meal. That is what I call a wonderful holiday.

my wife gets me EXACTLY what i want every year.

My kids, they live in Florida and since I have been with my wife, she has bought them airline tickets to come up every year.

Anything else is just stuff.
