Two weeks that made me go WTF
So last week I was on cloud nine because I had found out I was pregnant. Then on Friday I noticed some bleeding and pain. I spent that Saturday in the ER having a miscarriage. Now, I'm no longer pregnant. I'm not saddened or anything... it's just nature's way of resolving potential chromosomal issues or other abnormalities. But the care I received at the ob/gyn and the ER made me sick to my stomach. The ob/gyn was one of the coldest, most uncaring places. That's all...

4. NYCparalegal, I am so sorry for your loss
You need a hug.

I am so sorry that the people there were cold and non-supportive. You deserved caring and kindness.

I will send all healing and white light for you right now, and hope that there will be more good news for you very, very soon.

Julie

6. I'm sorry you had to go through that
Some docs see patients as numbers. When you do bump into the good ones they reeeally stand out though.

I hope your head is ok after the miscarriage. I love you.

10. sorry it happened that way....
The majority of aborted embryos don't implant, so their bearers never even find out. You're right-- it simply wasn't meant to be. The embryo was most likely non-viable for some reason or another. That's a damned shame, but far more common than most people realize.

Best wishes to you and your partner.

12. I'm sorry for your loss and for the way you were treated
I think sometimes doctors are cold because if they become emotionally involved, they are miserable from all the pain and loss that they witness.

You may want to pen a short note to the public affairs department of the hospital and let them know what happened. Maybe then the next person will have a better experience. (I say public affairs because those employees understand the importance of image.)

Many years ago, I lost twins and one of my girlfriends matter-of-factly told me that my next child simply needed guardian angels. Maybe that's hokey, but it made me feel better (and within a year, I was pregnant again and had a healthy baby.) So, blessings to your little angel.

I wish you received better care. Some kindness and compassion would have been very nice.

I hope you're okay. Please be well.
