4. Yes, last Christmas.
I found it when we were moving from one bedroom to another. It was still in the bag, sitting on a higher shelf in our walk in closet. I have no idea how I missed it but I spent considerable time looking for it last year.

Good luck!

6. I bought my mum 2 birthday gifts
because I picked one up long before her birthday and hid it in my closet, and promptly forgot about it.

7. Yes! Especially when I buy the thing in Spring or Summertime.
Or early January, when I get a present and think "hmm I'm going to regift this". It gets put away somewhere, and may never be found in time. Oh well, it may be found in time for a birthday!

9. Try to remember something about the time when you hid it
If I calmly try to think of what the circumstances were and picture myself holding the present and deciding where to place it, sometimes the hiding place pops into my concious mind. Good luck!

10. It will be in the last place you look
If you find it, and keep looking, you need help...

:P

I did this once with an Easter egg. We found it a while later. I think you can guess what gave it away...

I had hidden it on the shelf next to all the other gifts.

13. No, but I packed an ounce of weed
away when I was moving and forgot about it. I found it six months later when the town was drier than a popcorn fart while looking for something else.

17. No. But my grandma forgot about a couple easter eggs one year
We found them a couple months later, though, once they started smelling. Guess we didn't look far enough behind the couch that year.

18. Of course!
We put an unwrapped gift away with the wrapping paper, etc. one year. We just wrapped it up and gave it to my son the following year. We still laugh about it.

19. Still waiting to find one from 2 years ago
I've actually moved since then so I don't know if it accidentally got tossed out or what happened to it. It was a nice package of Burt's Bees stuff. If it doesn't turn up soon it'll go rancid, that stuff doesn't have the longest shelf life. :(

20. No, but I did that with some cheese once
It fell out of my grocery bag. But don't worry. I eventually found it four months later on a 90 degree day when I sniffed it out in my trunk.

21. My dear chimpsrsmarter!
I have!

I bought a baby gift for my daughter years ago, and put it in my closet...

And promptly buried it under a bunch of stuff...

How did I find it?

Well, let's just say that my closet reorganization project is still underway...

I have decided that an empty dresser is just the place to put gifts...
