Who would be the jocks? the nerds? the stoners? the shop class kids? Band camp?

4. The Audio-Visual Club.
In the olden days, these were the kids who would come to the classrooms and set up the filmstrip projectors or the old clattery reel-to-reel projectors. They were the proto-nerds, or maybe the ur-nerds. Later on in high school most of them had pocket protectors and slide rules.

And yes, I have a slide rule. And I know how to use it.

14. We didn't have an AV club...but I was on the newspaper, yearbook, speech team
and anything else to keep from having to go home. By my senior year, the yearbook became full of popular kids, so I left it... I was too cool for it...lol

I now realize what great freedom I had. It was a given that I wasn't going to be cool, no matter what I did. So, I didn't worry about impressing the cool kids, the jocks, anyone. I could be me. It was really quite liberating.

the bassoon players at band camp were the best group. There were only 2 or 3 of us, and we always had something going on. We were the people who smuggled in candy to band camp and re-sold it for a hefty profit. outside food was not allowed, and candy hard to find.
