Listening to the oldies tonight
I absolutely LOVE the Oak Ridge Boys and fell asleep dreaming about Richard Sterban (bass)

now moving on to Forrester Sisters...I have 3 sisters and we can do a pretty good knock off!!!

If I were rich I would record some songs

3. I think the Forrester Sisters remade a Crowded House song.

Did they do a version of "Better Be Home Soon"?

4. All across America, a new day is dawning
The shades of night are slipping away
People are waking up, stretching and yawning
And this is what they say:

Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the slammer
Throw away the key
Give 'em all a nine-pound hammer
Just keep 'em away from me
Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the big house
Lock all the windows and gates
Replace their musical stardom
With an ignominious fate

Lunch time in the USA
Bologna and American cheese
Same 40 songs on the radio
Call the music police!

Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the slammer
Throw away the key
Give 'em all a nine-pound hammer
Just keep 'em away from me
Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the pokey
Silence 'em forevermore
Chase 'em down out of the Smokies
With brickbats and two-by-fours

Sunset on the Oak Ridge Boys
Ridin' that prison bus
Aliens have stolen their luggage
And given it back to us

Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the slammer
Throw away the key
Give 'em all a nine-pound hammer
Just keep 'em away from me
Put the Oak Ridge Boys in the calaboose
Never set 'em free
They're musi-criminals on the loose
Like Kenny
Bocephus
And Leeeeee Greeeeeeeenwood
I really think we should put the Oak Ridge Boys away

5. Hey Greenbriar, I don't know if you have ever heard of the Rankin family
but the three sisters make some beautiful harmonies together:

7. I heard them first on a Chieftains CD and then I bought their CD titled Collection
which is now one of my favorites. If I do make it through the Pearly Gates, I expect to hear music like this. Here's another:

8. She reminded me of another singer
Anabela, from Celtic Galicia:

10. Need to learn Gallego
Galicia is a province of Spain, but has it's own language.

It is mostly understandable to Spanish speakers, and Portuguese speakers, but it is neither.

It also has some Celtic overtones that are not present in Spanish nor Portuguese.

Carlos Nuñez plays with the Chieftains, by the way...

:hi:
