but I changed it Rick Astley, just because

And 35° is kind of warm for us right now, so we're taking advantage of it. But it's supposed to go back into the teens next week. And then get REALLY cold in January.

5. 10 here right now - sky clear, enough clouds in the west to make sunset interesting.
Ya need a few clouds, off in the distance, to help you really appreciate clear skies overhead.

No wind to speak of here now, and it's pretty dry so 10 above is not so bad.

Pretty sunset, moon heading fast to full, and Mars rising was really something. Went out to the old cemetery. Seemed like a good place to ponder a bit on long nights and short days. The locals didn't mind the company and I saw a couple dozen deer and one big ol elk.

Between hot flashes and hot, inflamed joints, cold is a cake walk! Havocdad figures Boomer women doin menopause routine is part of the global warming thing. He sees me out on the front steps at 11 PM, wearing shorts and tank top, fanning myself IN DECEMBER & JANUARY and does a quick calculation of about how many other women there are in my age bracket... He figures it's only a matter of time before Gore asks us all to just jump in a lake.

30. It's been wicked foggy here on and off for a week.
And it doesn't burn off by noon, like you'd expect. All the snow we got last weekend is melting and evaporating, and there's no wind to move it along. So, it turns into fog and sits there. At least it's not supposed to turn into freezing fog tonight. That's much worse than regular fog.

It's kind of pretty and dreamlike and cool. Until you try to drive in it.

We need all the rain we can get. Durham is about to go into Stage 5 water restrictions which means commercial car washes get shut down and restaurants will have to serve on paper plates.
Greensboro is about in a similar situation too.

We're on a well so we'll see how that holds up.

69. Windy, snowy, icy...
the temperature read low-20s when I came in tonight, but that's not factoring in the wind chill. Add that and it's probably below 0 (or awfully close). It's snowing but it's not that light, pretty, fluffy snow...these are tiny, wind-driven flakes that swirl and slash and almost hurt. The kind of weather where, if you turn the wrong direction, it's hard to breathe.

Yesterday was sweater-weather. In fact, my sweater was a little too warm.

At 9:30 am here. It must have been a lot chillier earlier: I found both the cat and the dog curled up next to me when I woke up. Normally those two would prefer if their paths didn't cross. No overt hostility, just cool indifference - I have a lot of relatives like that...
