God help me, I have to go out shopping again!
My plan was to do no shopping today, it hasn't worked out that way yet.

I went out this morning and joined a gym, that's the best thing that happened all day.

I then went to Pier 1 to get tealights, it was early so it wasn't a bad trip, and I did find some nice wall hangings that will work in my entry (bonus points, they were on sale).

Next stop, grocery store. Sheer hell, but I made it home in one piece.

Fast forward a bit, cleaned off the dining room table for some serious gift wrapping. Checked my list to make sure everything was found, and it was.

Start to wrap my nephew's gifts, including some new clothes. Dig out the tissue paper, DAMN, who stole the tissue paper! So, out I went, stopped at another grocery store which was busy, but not as bad as the one this morning, and they didn't have any tissue paper, off to another store. This shopping center has a Home Depot, and a Wal-Mart, OMG, the parking lot was a mess, but I parked near the grocery, went in, got some dried mushrooms, some taquitos, and a really good frozen pizza. Paid at the self-serve registers and went back to the car. D'OH, forgot the gift wrap. Thankfully there's a Hallmark there, went in, found two cards that I needed to get anyway, and they had plenty of "value packs" of tissue paper. Thank you, divine spirit who is watching over me. Ran down to the liquor store for some vodka, I think I may need it after this trip!

Got home, wrapping commenced. OH OH, boxes for the candles are missing. That divine spirit isn't doing such a good job after all, thankfully I haven't started in on the other spirits yet.

4. we went shopping for foods for our X-mas Eve dinner last night
we went late, so it wasn't too crowded.

However, today my husband calls me on my way home from tai chi and tells me he forgot the sour cream for his nut rolls and biscotti. So I had to go to the store again. This is funny, since he's the LIST guy, nothing happens without a well thought out plan!

I had most of my gift shopping done, but had forgotten a grab bag gift for a good friend, so I also had to brave the discount store that night, and couldn't find anything nice!

so I sympathize. I still think people get so busy that they forget to make lists of everything that they need! :)

5. I went out early this morning and I think I have it all finished. I'm
still sorting and wrapping, so if I find that I've forgotten anything I'm just going to pick it up at the grocery store when I shop for Christmas dinner. Do you think anyone will be offended if they get a bunch of nice crisp carrots? Or maybe I should opt for broccoli. At least it's a Christmas color.

8. I did, too. The mall was empty early, even with all the early bird specials.
By the time I left though, late-arrivals were driving around "stalking" people with shopping bags to see if they were vacating a parking space!

It feels great to be done. I just have to go out tomorrow for a fresh poinsettia or two. I'm still not done decorating, though!

This was a great idea!!

"Ran down to the liquor store for some vodka..."

:P

I gave all my gifts yesterday. ;) I bought sheep and goats for my family. (brothers and sisters)

I'll go out on Monday morning and get my youngest son his gift.
I have no idea what to get either.

7. Made it home safely! It actually was a good trip
The outdoor "lifestyle center" where Yankee Candle is located was bustling, but I found a parking space with little trouble, did a bit of wandering around, grabbed a cup of coffee (yes, Starbucks, what else would you expect at the "yuppie" shopping mecca), got the box from Yankee Candle, and was only cut off once driving home.

I'm in for the night, Paula Deen's Bacon Cheeseburger meatloaf is going to be made in a few minutes, then I finish the wrapping and the vodka!
