Anyone know if burning CDs for British people is done the same way
as burning CDs in North America. Are they different platforms?

1. It's an ISO standard.
They are exactly the same.

12. Those are the same...
And if its a movie, you can burn it as a "Regionless" DVD, the only thing that is a restriction is whether it can work on PAL TVs or NTSC.

14. A couple of things I recommend...
First, it uses the same file systems as standard data CDs. So you shouldn't have problems there. I would recommend you burn it on a Recordable, NOT a Rewritable, DVD disc. The recordables, labeled "DVD+R, DVD-R" are compatible with nearly all DVD drives.

5. CDs are playable in both countries, unlike the differing video and DVD formats.
However, in the Southern Hemisphere, CDs and DVDs must be burned in reverse or they won't play correctly.

11. How do DVDs differ. I said CDs when I meant DVDs. To be specific, a family tree file.
