Question for military DUers

Do any small arms currently in use fire the 7.62 X 39 cartridge?
I know that's the AK-47 round, I own one. Funny(?)thing is,
I recently delivered to an import/export warehouse in NJ.

While being unloaded, I milled about the warehouse marveling
at all the "stuff" going in and out of the Country.

Then something caught my eye: A quarantined area marked
"Property of US Government". It was no less than 10 pallets
of 7.62 X 39 ammo. Things that make you go HMMM indeed!
