I have two, count them, two pots of soup on the stove right now.
One is a 13 bean and ham soup, the other is split pea with ham. Both are using the ham bones from Xmas dinner.

:9

Both soups will be enough for one meal and two frozen portions each.

:9

Soup is teh awesome.

10. Both soups are easy peasy to make
Soak beans or peas for at least 6 hours.

Drain beans or peas.

Put beans or peas in pot with 8 cups of water.

Put chopped onion, chopped celery, and chopped carrots in pot with water and beans/peas.

Put ham bone and ham in pot with beans or peas.

Simmer on low for 4 hours.

5. Awesome. I'm getting ready to make some veggie chili in the crock- pot...
...Oh-My-God!!! Can we talk irony. I just said "Chili", i.e. Childress, and "crock" ,in the same sentence....

9. Childress and crock do indeed belong in the same sentence.
Today, in the Viking Club drawing, I won an original copy of Life Magazine dated November 1961. Here is a picture.

16. Awesome....
...I'm jealous...:(

...some day, I need to post some picks my uncle gave me. He was one of the equipment managers for the Bucs, from their inception. His job was to facilitate the visiting team when they came to town. I've got some awesome original shots of the Purple People Eaters on the sidelines, Tark, Foreman, etc., in some very candid shots in the last years of their heyday.

8. Double, double toil and trouble;
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
2 WITCH. Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
ALL. Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
3 WITCH. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches' mummy; maw and gulf

It has no name.

Broth plus anything in fridge (froze peas, corn, brussel sprouts, etc) spices, salt and lots of pepper. After it started boiling I tossed in macaroni :D

Was quite warming :)

21. Thirteen bean & ham soup? Sounds explosive!!!
I've made a potato & cauliflower soup, and a vat of green beans & red potatoes so far this week. A pot of split pea ham is on tomorrow's menu.

24. Have you been hanging out with my spouse
Every week for the last month he's made large portions of something. We've got chili, split pea with ham, carrot lentil with ham, Hungarian sauerkraut, minestrone, and a couple others.
