so my kid was watching the Warner Bros. version of Horton Hatches the Egg
it was made in 1942. there's a scene where they're transporting Horton and his tree across the ocean on a ship to put him on display, and this fish swims up, sticks his head out of the water, looks at Horton, turns to the camera, says "well now i've seen everything!", pulls out a revolver and shoots himself in the head.

in a cartoon.

4. One of the funniest moments in all of Warner Brothers cartoons! Sadly, prudish self-righteousbitches
in their 1970s stomping out of "garbage" on TV made sure that one got edited, so it never made it on TV any more.

The busy-bodies bitches got lots of stuff edited out of cartoons, and made sure that a good number of them never made it to the air at all.

How I hate and despise and loathe them with the entirety of my being. Along with Don Wildmon, the malicious art-hating asshole who led them.

7. those were different times
there is some stuff in those old cartoons that are just beyond anything that would fly now... It's wild what was seen as silly that would now seem racist and insensitive.
we've watched a lot of those old Looney Tunes and raised an eyebrow or two...

Even the newer Charlie Brown animations have all the bite taken out of them....

9. Didn't that sort of thing happen regularly in old cartoons?
I think I've seen suicide by gun in a few, anyway... slapstick, you know.
