I just scared the shit out of myself.
I was watching Zodiac. Now, I was fairly sure that was a bad idea, because everything in that movie happens within 100 miles of my home, one way or the other (Okay, there's one scene in Riverside, but other than that) and I could identify half the locations on sight.

So I'm sitting here watching this movie, and there's a knock at my door. I'm scared almost enough to piss myself, because I'm not expecting anybody, and it's a cold, rainy, horribly windy night nobody in their right mind would be out in. So I look through the peep hole, and it's some guy I've never seen, but he's about my size, so I open the door on the theory that if he tries anything funny I could probably beat him down. Or maybe not, but I'm too curious for my own good.

Turns out he's from Round Table, trying to deliver a pizza.

I didn't order a pizza. And Round Table's sauce and crust have dairy in them, so I never order from them anyhow.

I ask him what address he's going to. He gives mine. I tell him that no, I didn't order a pizza. Poor kid looks skeptical, probably because he's out here in the cold and wet, and not getting paid much, and could use a tip more than a wild goose chase. Look kid, I tell him, I'm vegan, that's a meat pizza, I can smell it through the bag, and no, I didn't call and order it.

He told me to have a good night. He was about five four. He didn't have a gun, axe, chainsaw, lactating pitbull or any other weapon I could see. It was probably a neighbors' pizza.

I calmed down eventually.

I'm not allowed to watch scary movies by myself anymore.

1. That does sound pretty scary, my dear LeftyMom...
And I feel for the pizza guy!

Out there in the rain and cold...trying to deliver (and get paid for) that pizza...

And that is one very scary movie! I watched it recently, not alone, thank goodness...

Scary but enjoyable...:scared:

:hi:

4. Heh -- is that the new one or the 2005 one?
I recently watched both of them, because I also live relatively nearby, but lived in So Cal when it happened. I remember all the newspaper stories, but now living up here and then seeing those movies, makes it really creepy!

I liked the new film better, but that's cuz I like Jake Gyllenhaal

5. Poor you and poor him!
Poor you because that's damn creepy!

Poor him for delivering a wrong order in bad weather. Hopefully it was a mistake and not an idiotic prank.

I just moved. Only a few people know where I live and none of them would prank like that.
I'm guessing a neighbor ordered and the address got copied down wrong.

10. We had one of the beach cats jump on the door the other night when everything was really quiet.
Made us all jump and dogs starting barking.

They ran to the door and tried to break it down.

Poor kitty was just hungry.

11. Good thing you didn't look in the box...
Each of the 12 pizza slices had a different astrological symbol on it!
