So I'm reading about the real news story of last night - Brittney carted off to the Hospital
And I'm starting to think

PLUS (if you don't know who that is - think "Valley of the Dolls") EQUALS

Here's a girl who has been acting all of her life, pushed by her parents, made into something she's not - she was bound to crack up. She's the Michael Jackson/Neely O'Hara of this generation, which isn't exactly a great job title to receive.

2. Actually - it's off hold again
But seriously - who wants to learn how to raise their kids based on the parenting skills of Lynne Spears.

It's like learning social grace from Jeffrey Dahmer

I know I don't post a whole lot to you but I miss the bejesus out of you and keep you in my prayers

12. I don't post much anymore so there's no worry, but the book, as of
this morning NBC (because it had to be the lead story :eyes:), has been shelved.

I'm not the person I used to be. Hope you are well.

10. I have seen that look before on a person
and they were in the midst of a multi-week, fully paranoid, hallucinatory experience. I do not know what my friend's diagnosis was, but I know there were no drugs involved and that she ABSOLUTELY believed her delusions. It was actually nutritional supplements that calmed her out of it. 'Serenity' I think it was called?? It was B vitamins, EFAs and lots of other vitamins. No herbs that I recall.

11. Pictures are firewalled but I can imagine the glory that is Britney
You know, I saw on of all things, CNN, the piece about Britney shop-lifting the lighter. I never realized just how the papparazzi just swamps here wherever you go. Hell, I get freaked out if I'm stuck in a crowded elevator - I can't imagine everywhere I go I have that feeling of 'a crowded elevator'.

Somehow Brit just needs to get out of the limelight for a few years before she kills herself through modern chemistry

24. I've seen that look as well
On addicts/alcoholics who were dragged into detox having just "bottomed out". Her eyes are dead - there's no soul behind them.

I don't know for certain what Ms. Spears problem is, though I suspect substance abuse has a lot to do with it. Whatever it is, I hope she finally realizes that she needs a lot of help, and she's not going to get it from other partying celebs and a string of toadies. She and Amy Winehouse seem to be on a downward trajectory that can end fatally.

Sad.

It's a shame the media won't even mention the probably tens of thousands of people who have these kinds of crises all the time. Guess you gotta be famous before it's an issue. Oh well...

I sure love 'em myself. Red Hots, Red Hots, little tiny hot dots! And their poppa...ATOMIC FIREBALLS !!!

Seriously though, I feel bad for the Britt just pushed, pushed, pushed into that role. She outght to escape to France and chill out before she explodes. The French people would not treat her so awful like we do here.

21. Britney has some talent
Don't forget she's been singing since she was a kid with the Mickey Mouse club. She also won a round on Star Search

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britney_Spears#Childhood_and_discovery

She has some talent and she can dance, don't kid yourself on that one

I've seen *beyond* the valley, but not the first one. The second one was bad enough though.

22. The book is WAAAAAAY better
I was disappointed in the book but Patty Duke did a great Neely.

The book is just trashy good fun. The one where you fill up the tub with a nice hot bubble bath, turn off the telephone and put a "Do Not Disturb" on the bathroom door type fun!

26. I believe it was Truman Capote who said (paraphrasing his own assessment
of Jack Kerouac's work) that Jacqueline Susann typed the manuscript for 'Valley of the Dolls' on a cash register.
