Went to an auction today at an old flea market. Having moved from one location to another, there were some dealers who had not moved everything. One of those dealers was a local comic book store that recently went out of business. Two long boxes of comics and one box that was half that size were up for sale, and I ended getting one long and a short for $35. That's for both of them. Out of those two boxes came about 180 comics that I didn't have, and a short box overflowing with duplicates and stuff I already had (it being a bargain bin, those two actually do mean different things.) That comes to ~$0.20 a comic.
Sure, having about 200 new comic books is cool and all, but there's also a bad section to this. It took me nearly 5 hours--counting breaks--to go through the comics, discard duplicates and catalogue them all. Not to mention, there's the online cataloging and the selling/trading away of the duplicates.
Oh yeah, there's always the integration of the new comics into my actual collection... I pray to God that this doesn't make me sick of comics...
