College & Life
Tomorrow is the big day. Sigh. I wish i could say i am excited about starting the Spring semester, but i am not. I am taking 20 credit hours, but most of the classes are "easy":eyes:. I am somewhat sad, though. My best friend, a woman 10 years older then me, who started college with me during the Fall of '06 found another lump in her breast. So she won't be joining me tomorrow. :( Another friend has fallen in love and went crazy, so she won't be joining me either. I know i am not going to college to make friends but it's still sad that I will not be accompanied by some wonderful people tomorrow. Another problem is that i really don't want to go back. I can handle the work, but i am restless. I am somewhat excited about the classes i am taking :) I only need 20 more credits, or 5 courses, to graduate :)

Math 171 -- PreCalculus Algebra
Bio 111 -- Intro to Biology
Com 231 -- Public Speaking
Pol 110 -- Intro to Political Science
Hum 220 -- Human Values and Meaning
Hum 230 -- Leadership

Hopefully, tomorrow i will be in a better mood

I hope so. My mind is just on the friends that i have met that have already fallen by the way-side. Some, but not all, could not help it. As they say, life happened :(

I am also Vice-President of an Honors Society - Club at my college. I am also in SGA. I am 1 of only 7 senators that represent close to 60,000 people. So, i am pretty busy....

7. Senior-itis got the best of me when I was an undergrad.
I've regretted it ever since. Be strong. Be dedicated. Be IN CLASS (hehehe... that was my problem)...

Graduation is just around the corner!!!

10. I just finished my schooling last semester
I am kind of sad that I will not be returning for the spring.
Although it seemed like it would never end it seems like it went by really fast now.
I kind of wish I had worked a little harder and gotten a better GPA (I got a 3.2), but I did have a lot of fun and I was able to lay a lot of pipe.

11. Excuse you?
So, while you were in school, you were working for a pluming company? Why would you go to college to lay alot of pipe?

13. I thought "lay a pipe"
meant pooping out a long, coiling poo.

17. Oh, sorry for the slang confusion
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 04:33 PM by cabraverde
"laying pipe" is a term used by younger males to describe the act of intercourse. "Laying a lot of pipe" just means "having intimate relations with a large number of young ladies (mostly freshmen)"

Its not my fault that I was a cool kid in school, ohhhh how I am going to miss those good times.......the memories.

Building fiber-optic telecom infrastructure, much of it was in underground locations. Your post reminded me of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_of_tubes

 :hi: I don't start classes until Jan. 16, but I know what you mean about it being different without some good friends there, and I get the restlessness thing too. :pals: Peace and good luck!

14. other than the HUM courses that looks very familiar
I believe it was a fun semester too. The "speech" class sucked, but fortunatly it sucked to everyone in the class. I remember doing a mock interview where I dressed as Clinton and a buddy (guy) friend of mine dressed as Monica Lewinski. It was off the norm and a riot.

18. Well, it turns out that the DU admins, recognizing your significant 6 course workload
when you only need 5 to graduate, have ensured that you won't be further distracted by posting on DU.

My second semester doesn't start until the 29th and I only have two classes (Foundation Drawing II and Design II).

Good luck! :D
