1. OK, really, let's just stop it now, BCS. Admit you're wrong, allow a playoff.
Otherwise, UK and Arkansas fans will be curious how beating the "#1 team in the country" doesn't rank them higher than the team that lost to Appalachian State.

24. I appreciate the sentiment
But after the way Arkansas played vs. Mizzou, they don't have a pot to piss in.

5. No
that still doesn't make any sense. If you lose the championship game you are necessarily #2

Oh and OSU didn't look bad LSU just looked that good. IMHO

8. Not so my good man
This late in the season, if you put UGA up against Ohio State, UGA would kick the crap out of the Buckeyes.
They wouldn't make them look like the PeeWee division runners-up like Hawaii, but probably pretty close.

10. they will be #2 in the coaches poll
I believe the coaches are obligated to name the loser of the BCS championship bowl #2.

7. 4 Big 12 teams in the top 10
It was a rebuilding year for my Sooners (#8) as well, and I'm thinking they might meet your Bulldogs in next year's Championship Game :)

11. For all the abuse heaped upon Ohio State...
Let's remember that the Buckeyes weren't even picked to win their conference, much less be in the BCS Championship Game -- they overachieved remarkably this season, but due to the lack of a playoff system, they wound up playing in a game where they were over-matched - and frankly I think the game could have just as easily been between USC and Georgia. But it was what it was.

12. Thank you
We were looking at a re-building year as well. Found ourselves ranked #1 when no one, especially those of us here in Columbus, expected them to. They played with heart and deserve some credit for exceeding expectations this season.

15. LSU deserved to win
they had a better team.

And I graduated from an SEC school. I have a daughter at Ohio State and live in Columbus. Mixed loyalties to a point.

Buckeyes got lucky this year with the BCS mess, got a chance and lost. It happened.

16. Ohio State made mistakes, LSU didn't
Even though we were exceeding expectations this year, I found this loss tougher to take than last year's. Florida just ran the Buckeyes out of the stadium last year -- it was a beat-down, plain and simple.

This year, however, we really did have a chance to at least be more competetive, if now actually win. A blocked field goal (that should have been a touchdown), stupid penalties like roughing the kicker. Had Ohio State played a slightly better (read: more disciplined) game, they would have had a chance in this one. I wouldn't want to be within a city block of Jim Tressel when that game ended.

17. Some juniors will undoubtedly turn pro...
I have to hand it to Florida's basketball team last year -- several of their starters (four?) had the chance to turn pro after the 2005-06 season, but they decided to stick around to see if they could win the championship two years in a row (plus Joakim Noah is a Democrat).

I'd love to see the core of Ohio States' underclassmen decide that 2008 is "their year" and that they'll stick around to redeem themselves. But I can't fault them for not passing up millions of dollars. We'll see.

:toast: You won, and I would've bet against you :)

As for the top 10, I knew Texas would sneak back in there, because...well, they are Texas...

One of these days, there will be a playoff system(I hope), until then, see you next fall, with my BCS/College Football bias(negative bias), and anti Oklahoma Sooner attitude....:D

eta:to change top 25, to top 10...
