2. It looks that way.
I was up late last night watching television in bed when my daughter texted me to call her ASAP. So I called her. She had taken the test an hour or so prior.

Her boyfriend is apparently rather excited by the prospect of impending fatherhood. She's not sure how she feels yet, and frankly, I'm not sure how I feel yet either.

4. She's 20 - she'll be 21 by the time the baby comes.
Boyfriend is 24. They do live together and have been planning to get married. She says this will not move up the plans for a wedding (she's been thinking September of 2009), but she may change her mind when she thinks it through.

8. No, I don't think we do.
I'm not sure how I feel about impending grandmotherhood. I wish the girl had gone to college before something like this happened (history appears to be repeating itself), but at least her relationship is solid and both kids are employed and hard-working.

19. Yes, it is!
And yes, I am still trying to wrap my mind around it. I wonder if this is how my mother felt when SHE found out that her first grandchild was on the way. Of course, she was 48 when she became a first-time grandmother. I'm a shade younger than that.

20. I just hope they have a valid means of supporting a child.
Are either (parent) educated? Do either have their own business? Own their own house? Have a good skill set which demands a decent wage on the labor market?
If not maybe they should hold off on getting married so that she can take advantage of more social programs as a single mother.

Her employer-provided health insurance is basically just major medical. He's a veteran (Marine), so it would seem prudent to take advantage of the medical benefits he can provide.

They were planning a wedding in September of 2009.

I didn't mean to sound like a downer, they sound like they have their shit squared away.

I wish them the best of luck.

Why do you leap in for the kill so quickly.....I asked a valid question out of genuine concern.
Excuse me if I care about children, and I apologise for worrying about the plight of others. I have found it is easier to be proactive than reative (YMMV).

with their first grandschildren, and they looked soooooooo pretty. They were young and happy as all hell and surrounded by new and old family, those are great pictures :D I'm one of the baby-come-latelys compared to my older siblings, so grandma has always seemed much older to me :)

Gramma's do not wear cleavage showing stuff, so that shirt you have on is out. And your glasses have to be on a chain.

Get a dish of lemon drops for your coffee table, and keep your tissue under your watch.

:P

I bet I get smacked for that.
