6. "Inarticulate Speech of the Heart" is easily one of the best
album titles _ever_. (Plus, Van's voice makes me all *swoony". :P )

4. I've never seen him in concert, either.
How about you come to Europe and we'll see him together in Germany? (CMW's not a concert-goer. x( )

19. I'm not big on crowds myself
but I'll put up with one to see a good show.

A couple years ago, my bf and I had the Year of the Diva. We saw Madonna, Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli, Cher, Bette Midler and David Bowie. And had GREAT seats for almost all of 'em - front row for Bowie, second row for Cher and Midler, 7th row for Madonna. It was great.

I got one of Bowie's guitar picks.

20. I think CMW would suffer a crowd for Bowie.
He's a huge Bowie fan.

I luv me some Cher, and I don't care what _anybody_ thinks about that. I also luv me some Chastity Bono; it was only because of her that my mother allowed me to get my ears pierced when I was nine. :)

21. I've seen Bowie
many times. He puts on a great show. I've loved him for well over 30 years.

And Cher... well, she's just fabulous! I've seen her three times, and she's thoroughly enjoyable.

Even better, CMW gave me a JBL "On Stage Micro" docking station/loudspeaker, so Van can now rattle the windows in my studio! :bounce:

Yes, I've got one of those external speaker thingies too. It's very nice to be able to share my love of Van with a wider world from time to time. Whether they're ready for it or not.

28. LOVE LOVE LOVE Van Morrison.
I don't think I could ever pick a favorite song because there are too many fabulous ones.

My latest fave is Glad Tidings from his Into the Mystic album. I can't find the song on YouTube any more, though. :(

Glad Tidings

And they'll lay you down low in the easy
And the lips that you kiss will say Christmas.
And the miles that you traveled the distance

So believe no lies, dry your eyes and realize
That surprise
La, la, la, la la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la...
And the businessmen will shake hands and talk in numbers
And the princess will wake up from her slumber
Then all the knights will step forth with their arm bands
And ev'ry stranger you meet in the street will make demands
So believe no lies, then dry your eyes and realize
That surprise
La, la, la...

And we'll send you glad tidings from New York
Open up your eyes sa you may see
Ask you not to read between the lines
Hope that you will come in right on time
And they'll talk to you while you're in trances
And you'll visualize not taking any chances
But meet them halfway with love, peace and persuasion
And expect them to rise for the occasion
Don't it gratify when you see it materialize
Right in front of your eyes
That surprise

And they'll lay you down low and easy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I always knew you had great taste, Heidi! :hi::hug::loveya:
29. I'll bet you also like
the Grateful Dead, dontcha? (That'll be my next appreciation thread.)
Here's a Dead song for you, sweetie. :loveya: :hug:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAelvSEL5a8
Box of Rain | Grateful Dead
Look out of any window
any morning, any evening, any day
Maybe the sun is shining
birds are winging or
rain is falling from a heavy sky -
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
this is all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago
Walk out of any doorway
feel your way, feel your way
like the day before
Maybe you'll find direction
around some corner
where it's been waiting to meet you -
What do you want me to do,
to watch for you while you're sleeping?
Well please don't be surprised
when you find me dreaming too
Look into any eyes
you find by you, you can see
clear through to another day
I know it's been seen before
through other eyes on other days
while going home --
What do you want me to do,
to do for you to see you through?
It's all a dream we dreamed
one afternoon long ago
Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams
to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted
with words half spoken
and thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
to do for you to see you through
A box of rain will ease the pain
and love will see you through
Just a box of rain -
wind and water -
Believe it if you need it,
if you don't just pass it on
Sun and shower -
Wind and rain -
in and out the window
like a moth before a flame
It's just a box of rain
I don't know who put it there
Believe it if you need it
or leave it if you dare
But it's just a box of rain
or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long long time to be gone
and a short time to be there
