I prefer the stone ground yellow grits. The white grits are good too! You need butter and salt and don't make them runny!

My favorite grits dish is a yellow grits cheese and shrimp casserole! *yummy* :)
(Any good Southern Junior League or Medical Auxillary cookbook, especially from the GA, NC and SC coastal areas has this recipe!)

My wife grew up in New York/New Jersey (army brat), and until she was 17, and her father was transferred to Ft. Bragg, NC she had no idea what a biscuit was. Always had dinner rolls.

Didn't know how to make the good kind of chicken 'n dumplings, either...but, she knows now that we live in Georgia.
