Online Banking: Who else is doing it?
I just got my bank account on the internet...

And I think it will be much easier to manage there!

I mean, I'm here all the time anyway...

I put it on my laptop too, so I can keep tabs on it when I travel...

I feel as though I've just joined the 21st Century!

2. Hi Peggy!
I do online banking, and I love it.

Very quick learning curve, and a great time saver. :hi:

Yeah, it looks like it'll be a great timesaver!

I'm not so sure about the quick learning curve, but we'll see!

9. You will be surprised Peggy...
You will learn it very fast.

Here's the habit I have developed...after you have made a payment, you should have some sort of option to view all of your recent transactions. When you go there, you will see all your payments listed, kind of like a check register.

Don't forget to record each payment in your check register, if you still use a paper register as I do.

11. That is one of the options...
I wish I could get rid of the paper register, but I guess I can't...

But this should be a lot easier to manage!

Thanks for the tip!

3. Couldnt live without it
well.. I could, but I wouldn't have it so easy.

I also pay all my bills except one at their websites.

I can do all the bills in about 5 minutes each month.

You'll love it! I do.

:hi:

4. I've been doing it for quite awhile.
My credit union has a great online banking setup -- I pay my bills online, can transfer funds, balance accounts, etc. I hardly ever use checks any more. Love it.

Yeah, I have a credit union too...

And their website is nice to nagivate!

Just opened the new account yesterday, and I keep checking to see if there's any new activity yet!

I'm pretty silly!

10. Pay all bills through on-line banking except those
I can pay on line by credit card. I get cash or miles on those, and always pay the card off every month.

I hate it when I have to write a check now.

We'll see how things shake out!

I hope to write a lot fewer checks!

12. I have an account online
and because I can always check my available balance at anytime, I have had this account for almost three years now. I suck at math, so I can't balance a checkbook very well. But with my online banking, I can see that I have 2.00 in my account and go down to the gas station and pay 1.69 for a 2-liter of pop and be safe. I love it. I used to bounce so many checks in my youth, but now I just use my Visa debit check card.

15. My dear Roon!
I have trouble with the arithmetic too...

Balancing the checkbook is one of my big trouble spots!

Luckily, I haven't bounced a check in many years...

But still, I hope to simplify my life!

Glad it's working so well for you too...

23. Thanks Peggy
I also wanted to add that I love paying ALL my bills online. I used to wait all day for my money..run to the grocery store and cash it..then fill out the money orders...stamps and envelopes..walking to the post office....now I hang out on DU and pay all my bills online..Didn't realize how behind the times I was!

19. My dear CaliforniaPeggy!
I have done online banking and online bill pay for a couple years now.

I have a checking account and a credit card with USAA, and they allow me to just click a few buttons to make a payment on my card with my account.

I love it!

24. I would be happy if they made home based ATM's
It would be cool if our printers could legitimately print cash. Maybe someday. Because if we attempted that today we would quickly get arrested for counterfeiting.

I kinda like that idea too...

We'd hardly need to go out for anything! Well...almost anything!

I'd rather not go to prison for counterfeiting, TYVM!
