Fucking Best Buy. I could just hit someone.
I bought an item. I asked about their return policy. The gal checking me out said that it would work, and even if it did not I could return it with no problem. I get home, it doesn't work and they made a huge mistake. I call the store, and they now say that I can't return it at all. I am calling corporate tomorrow. This is ridiculous. The collective IQ of the people who "helped" me was below the average IQ of a south american tree frog.

Figuratively, of course. Yell at me. Abuse me. Berate me. Then when you are punched out and calm, call Best Buy. The first person to raise their voice loses the argument, even if they were right to begin with.

4. go into the store and talk to the manager. if the manager gives you
shit get his/her name and then call corporate.

you show how pissed you are, how unreasonable you can't return it--i'm sure you'll get store credit or something. was it a dvd or software or something that could be copied? or was it a blender?

6. We do all our research ahead of time
on anything we purchase. One thing I've learned is that not only is there limited training for sales associates, many will just BS their way through any sale.

Check out your state for laws regarding implied warranties.

Any decision maker at Best Buy will be insulated from angry customers. The folks you actually deal with have no control over what you're mad about, they're just folks with a shitty job. Try to remember that.

This is right off the back of a BestBuy receipt I am holding in my hand:

30-day return period: Returns accepted from 30-days of purchase with following exceptions:

14-day return period for computers, monitors, digital cameras and radar detectors

Non-refundable items: Labor (from an installation), and consumable items such as phone cards and food and beverage.

13. Seems like you got yerself an idiot there
I bought a webcam at bestbuy a few weeks ago, didn't like it and went with receipt in hand to exchange it...did it 3 times until I found what I wanted and worked for me.
The one person I asked about webcams, I mentioned to him about going through so many and he said, "It's fine, as long as it's within the time period alotted you can go through as many as you want until you find the one you want!"
