9. Well for one...indoor baseball sucks...
The Dome was really built for football with baseball shoehorned in...and the way economics in baseball is right now the Dome just wasn't a money maker...

Take a look at the drawings and model of the new stadium...gonna be nice...classic downtown baseball venue...

14. No choice but to play indoors here in Phoenix.
When it's 110 degrees it's still hot in the enclosed stadium... but it would be impossible without the roof.
One big advantage is no rain delays at Dbacks games ever. (and yes, it does rain in Phoenix... sometimes) :)
