AMAZING what happens when you figure out a problem to your own problems...

...the petty problems in GDP seem to melt away.

For those who don't know, I'm a composer of Broadway musicals. Well, that's the plan anyway--I'm only 25, but I'm already writing lyrics for other professionals and MAY be getting paid for a writing job (for the first time) later this month. (Fingers crossed on that last one.)

I must have been writing and re-writing this one song for two months--working it, then dropping it, coming back to it, and screwing it up again. And then finally, tonight, after sniping at anti-Obama forces for hours and feeling like it was the end of the world that there were so many angry, ugly people in there--I took a break, wandered off into the (light) rain, and FIXED the song at long last. Decisively.

Now I come back, and it's like, Obama this, Obama that--and I honestly don't care. He can fend for himself. Me, I'm too damn happy in my own accomplishments.

Can anyone else relate to this?

...who constantly gets bogged down in my lyrics (but who inevitably resolves the honesty/viability equation).

The world can fall apart when I have a breakthrough moment & I won't care. I finally discovered the perfect line & nothing else matters.

I guess I just like to complicate my life as much as possible... ;-)

Any tips for someone who sucks at writing lyrics? :)
