I think I'm actually going to print the thank you cards. My handwriting is deteriorating, and I can't write for more than a few minutes. But I can still type for days. :)

I don't know the DU IDs of most of the people who donated, but I do know who some of them are. Those people who I can identify are definitely getting personalized cards. And I'm absolutely going to send a thank you to everyone who's mailing address came with the donation.

I'm looking forward to this. I love sending people cards. I just wish I had a pair of hands that worked. :P

But the donations came through with people's real names, not their DU IDs. So for the majority of people I can only send their thank you to their home address.

22. It is definitely an odd, peculiar tradition.

It made a lot of sense back before mass-communication, in places where people were isolated on farms, estates and other separate properties and rarely saw each other. I don't know that they serve much purpose now.

But I like sending and receiving them. :P

Thank you notes are just exasperating. You don't way to write the same thing in each note, just filling in the blank like "Thank you for the _____." It takes me forever to write them and I put it off for as long as I possibly can.

38. Priyanka organized a fundraiser here last week

to raise money for a mobility scooter for me. The fundraiser did so well that I'm following the advice a bunch of people gave me, and I'm upgrading to a power-chair instead of the scooter.

I have a whole lot of DUers to thank, and a few people at work, and some friends off-line. :)
