The real reason the SS Minnow shipwrecked
It was all the shit the passengers took on that ill-fated three-hour voyage.

The waterline was about three inches below the rub rail on that voyage. When the sea came up, a lot of it came over the side.

And...uhh...wouldn't you have taken a second RADIO with you on that trip?

They didn't know they were going to end up on an island, and how many coconuts do you think floated by them on a typical day at sea? Sure, you can make wonderful coconut radios, as evidenced by the show, but it's not bloody likely at sea! I think it was an insurance scam.
