7. How'd you get that Kucinich sig to post?

I snagged it last night, reduced it to 200 pixels wide and saved it as a jpg. When I went to upload it as my sig, DU told me it was too big — more than 20 kb. So I shrunk it to 150 pixels with more compression and it was still too big. Any smaller and "Let Dennis Debate" would've been hard to read, so I gave up. :shrug:

giving you the problem. From what you are saying, it sounds like the file size on disk. You could try either reducing the quality, which usually reduces the file size, or uploading it elsewhere like I did. I just posted the URL for the file from myspace and used that instead of trying to upload a picture.

Or you could just save my reduced quality (and size) version and upload it and use it instead. It has already been shrunk down to fit DU rules.

I put it in Photobucket and tried to link it from there.

I just can't figure out how you took a .png of 91 kb and changed it to a .gif of 16.5 kb without changing the physical size while I can't get a compressed .jpg below 20 kb without shrinking the fuck out of it. :shrug:

It has a function called Smart Saver on it. It allows you to reduce the quality and file size of pictures to some degree. The older version I have (4.0) of Photo Impact was released back when most everyone was still on dial up (before Methuselah was born.) The reason for that function in the program was to reduce the sizes (file sizes) of pictures so they would download quicker.

9. What a weird day this has been.

It started when my private instructor e-mails me telling me he really likes the song I re-worked, which is weird, because I was extremely unsatisified with it. Then I get a call offering me $500 to play a gig in Connecticut. Then a total stranger flirts with me and asks for my name so she can put me on Facebook. And when I get home, she turns out to be a born-again hardcore Christian Fundie who just wants to be "friends." In NYC, for crying out loud!

In between it all, the Oscar noms come out, Fred Thompson drops out of the race, Jose Padilla sentenced, and Heath Ledger ODs.

What an odd day.

17. Boone is a neat town, but not

terribly liberal. Odd mixture of liberal students/faculty and rich, conservative retirees. The entire surrounding area is just gorgeous, though.
